Trick-or-Treat

You know how some of the stupid things you do as a child come back to haunt you?

Today Sammie brought home this "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" box from school. (I grew up in a rural area in Utah, so I had never even heard of this until she brought a box home last year. Actually I don't remember that either, but she tells me she brought one home last year. She has a better memory than I do!)

Anyhow, Tom was the one to pick Sammie up from school today. After she got home, she came in and told me the following story:

Back when Tom was about 10 or so, he also brought home a "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" box. However, Tom modified the fundraiser--"Trick-or-Treat for Little Tommy Mansell!" He kept the money ($7) in hopes of saving it for a model airplane. However, he said it didn't even make it that far--he bought candy instead.

So, to rectify his wrong, some 20 years later, he's going to put a $10 bill in Sam's box. Better late than never, right?!
Happy October!
