I am soooo glad last week is over. Tommy went to a preschool evaluation on the last day of April, and two days later mysteriously turned up sick. To make a long story short, he ended up spending 4 days in the hospital (after a quick ambulance ride between hospitals) with a fever, severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. After running every test under the sun (including the swine flu!), they came back with a diagnosis of the Rotavirus. Dad/Tom of course was out of the country for the whole fantastic week (that guy, he lucks out on everything), but fortunately my sister-in-law (Rachel), who also happens to be an RN, was here. We also had lots of friends, family and ward members offer to help. Thank you!
Tommy, being the high-maintenance guy that he is, was not exactly the model patient. I think he was known on the floor as the little crabby patty. He got irritated any time a nurse, or anyone for that matter, even walked in the room. Not that I blame him--IV's, blood draws, etc., aren't my idea of fun either.
I'm just glad he's home and back to the same little troublemaker that he usually is. And, no, neither myself nor Sammie escaped the stupid virus either. As for Rachel, we will see . . .

I had no idea. I hope he is feeling better now. Let me know if I can help in any way.
