More Adventures With Tommy

I should have known that a simple trip to the ENT this morning wouldn't be easy or simple with Tommy in tow.

This little guy has been high maintenance from the moment he was extracted and life-lighted out over two years ago. If he's going to do something, he does it with gusto (must be from his father!). From rolling over at only 6 days old, colic, acid reflux, tubes, adnoid removal, etc., etc., he keeps me hopping. (I must admit, though, that up until the age of about 18 months he was a busy, but good baby).

As we left the house for his doctor's appointment this morning, we hadn't even made it down the street before he started coughing and threw up in the car seat. So, we turned around, switched car seats, changed his clothes, and off we went again.

Five minutes after arrival at the ENT's, he had already messed his pants. After a quick change, the nurse directed us to a room full of fantastic toys. Pulling him out of the toy room to the exam room was a bit of a fight, to say the least, and Dr. Hurley mentioned that "obviously energy is not a problem with him!" Then the highlight for me was when I held him in a kung-foo grip on my lap, and he did his famous headbutt back into my face and gave me a fat, bloody lip! What a little gem!

Since he was such a good little trooper (yeah right) they rewarded him with a purple sucker on our way out the door. Thank you very much, since the sticky sucker ended up in his hair instead of his mouth on the car ride home.

He's kind of like his father that way--never gives me any time to get bored!
