Slip of the Tongue

Granted Tom was very tired when he said this, changing times zones and all. He was trying to explain to me that it would be better for him to have his 3 rest days in Dusseldorf as opposed to Stansted, but it came out like this:

"I'm going to call work and see if I can get laid-over in Dusseldorf." As a wife, many countries apart from her husband, I explained I would rather hear him say he wanted to get a "layover" in Dusseldorf, not "laid" over in Dusseldorf. If he wants to stay married to me, a "layover" would be much better. Late at night it was cause for quite a laugh, but I couldn't bring myself to explain it to Sammie, at least not yet anyway!
