The Longest Legoland Post Ever!

If you know me, you know that I am not a spur-of-the-moment type of gal. I like to have my life planned hour-by-hour. I could not function without my weekly planner and post-its.
Anyhow, Monday was my birthday--I turned 29, again. Sunday afternoon we were trying to figure out what to do for my birthday. We talked about a local resort or riding the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon. We couldn't decide--I just knew I wanted to a get away for a few days. Then Tom suggested we pack up and head for Southern California--might as well use our Legoland tickets before they expire in August. He didn't think I would go for it, since it hadn't been planned in advance, but it actually sounded great to me. So, 1 1/2 hours later, we had packed up, reserved a hotel, and we were on our way.
We were both a little worried about how the trip would go with with Tommy, but to our surprise, he was good (at least 95% of the time, so what more could you ask from a two-year-old; especially our two-year-old!).
Since Tommy is right at 36 inches, he was able to ride almost every ride. After the Lagoon fiasco last year, I didn't know how he would fare on the rides, but he loved them. Even the ones he rode by himself--he didn't even try to climb out of or climb off anything! That is a record! It gives me hope he won't act like he's two forever! We did have a few tears and tantrums, but he really was a trooper. Sam had a blast and she didn't even throw up once--another family record!
Yay! Maybe we'll be brave enough to attempt Disneyland next year.

Sam shooting water at someone--at least it wasn't at me!

Daddy and Sam waiting in line

Daddy and Sam (I don't remember the names of all the rides)

Sammie at the Volvo driving school. Last time she was only 5 and ran all the red lights and drove on the wrong side of the road! (Gets that from her father!) However, this time she was a law-abiding citizen. (Gets that from her mother!)

Daddy and Tommy on the "ooh-cah" (Tommy-speak for helicoptor)

Tommy and his best friend--a car

Daddy and the birthday girl in the "ooh-cah"

Apparently he's afraid of little old men sleeping on the benches.

Good thing this old man's sleeping while Sam does bunny ears.

One of his infamous tantrums--can't quite get the body language right while strapped in a stroller. However, I give him an A+ for the facials.

Sam and her new adventurer friends

Sammie in the "eye-cane." More Tommy-speak, this time for airplane.

Daddy and Tommy getting off the "eye-cane"

Gitty-up! He didn't even climb off this time!

Or this time either!

Tommy with his buddy Thomas

Hope she doesn't cross over to the dark side like cousin Travis!

Beep, beep! Out of the way of my jeep!

Mommy's little beast

Daddy and Sam; waiting, and waiting . . .

Dad and Sam on the watercraft. Hah! She didn't even get me wet!

Bye Legoland! Tommy says bye to everything and everyone these days.

Daddy and Sam at the beach. For us desert dwellers, it was a little chilly! And Mom's a party pooper--worried about getting sand in the car.

Had a fabulous birthday. Thanks Daddy and kidlets!
