Thank Heaven for Kids

While I prefer to live in the city, I guess I'll always be a country bumpkin at heart. There's an old Oak Ridge Boys song that my dad used to play a lot--"Thank God For Kids."

If it weren't for kids have you ever thought
There wouldn't be no Santa Claus
Or look what the stork just brought
Thank God for kids

And we'd all live in a quiet house
Without Big Bird or Micky Mouse
And Kool Aid on the couch
Thank God for kids.

Thank God for kids, there's magic for a while
A special kind of sunshine in a smile
Do you ever stop to think or wonder why
The nearest thing to heaven is a child

I guess that song sums up what I'm feeling right now. I've been following three blogs lately of three different LDS women that have lost their babies; either from tragic accidents or health reasons. One of the main things I have learned from their amazing strength is to hold my own "little monsters" a little tighter and longer.
